What are you reading?

What book are you reading at the moment? And by which author is it written?

Just started today on the Darkness, by Dean Koontz, flipping heck i only picked it up to read the prologue at work, and am a quarter of the way through already, some flipping great writing. The book was first published in 1984, but is still not dated and is a real, real page turner!

Just finished Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, wonderful book (if you're into reading about the Middle age)...

Now I'm starting on "The Peoples of Middle Earth" (part 12 of the serie Christopher Tolkien has published) Not gotten very far in it, but mostly it's the appendixes from Lord of the Rings, small stories, family trees and such... But hey, I'm fanatic! emoticon

started reading the dark tower 1: the gunslinger by steven king a month ago and my reading mirrors the pace of the book! no it is good and it was written when he was in college many years ago so it is different to his new work and it is sometimes hard to tell it is king i am reading.

The Golden Bough by Sir James George Frazer
a friend lent it to me for a while, it's really interesting, even if it's written a little over my head at times

^WHOW. That is one seriously big book! I've got a copy at home, i got it around the same time as the illustrated LOTR so have never had the gusto to start such an epic...i'll see what you think after you've toiled through the 900 pages misty, then i'll see if it's worth me starting it, lmao. emoticon

so far I'm like 40 in and although I feel like an idiot when it comes to understanding his phrasing some of the time, it's got some really good parts

Re: What are you reading?

hell yeah mate, it's one of the best written books i've read for a while, it had me in stitches today, reading a certain section. Admittedly it won’t be to everybody’s taste, but I like the way it is written, and the way the rather “unscary” horror story is developing, lol!
