Writing Courses

I've seen a few adverts for distance learnign courses. I joined one many years ago, which I never found time to complete. Can anyone out there recommend a good course for beginners, or do you think it's best to go it alone.

I'm not sure of your location but i would recommend the Writers Bureau for United Kingdom residents. They do creative writing, journalism, or general writing courses. You have to pay but you earn your course fees back in published writing (it is one of the criteria’s of the course).

I'm currently doing a Writers Bureau creative writing course. I'll be honest, at first I thought "this starts too easy, it’s for writings who have never picked up a pen before" but to be honest I’ve learnt so many little things from this course that I would otherwise have been none the wiser to!!

Hi,
if you want something more formal, the Open University also run short writing courses. Try www.open.ac.uk once you enter the site go to the list of subjects and click onto Humanities where you will find a list of introductory courses. Points can also be accumulated towards a degree, should you desire to continue in your studies.

I picked up a letter in the jobcenter the other week about learning to write scripts for television shows......I'll see if I can find it......I wouldn't mind doing something like that :D :D :D I'd be cool :D :D :D
