Captain Corelli's Mandolin

o.k...offically the story of "love" and "war"...seen the film, bloody brilliant, never read the book. If i see it (reduced maybe!) i will buy it, has anybody read it, and if so, what are you views on it?

I thought the book Captain Corelli's Mandolin was a brilliant book, and even, for this style of book, the film adaptation was an impressive effort. What I will say is this genre, for a male, can be far more rewarding than it is perceived.

That is true, as long as you watch the films with a chick, lol. No seriously for a moment, the genre is really a lot more than soppy, corny “love prevails” kinda stuff. It all depends what you read i suppose, the best ones for me are ones where love doesn’t always prevail…books like Romeo and Juliet and films like Titanic, lol…more close to reality i suppose.

the film was very good i thought. showed true emotion. the book is even better. a very good read and should be read if you get the chance.
