The Definition of Irony!!
There I was, happily retrieving the milk from the fridge on a cold and wet spring morning, when unexpectedly i heard an almighty bang (exaggeration1), down I looked and the scene that greeted my eyes was one that embedded a hideous imprint in my mind, one that will never erode. My friend, my dear dear fridge-magnet friend, the “Lucky Leprechaun”, was writhing, in agony (exaggeration2), on the kitchen floor, body parts were splayed everywhere, it was like a scene from an horrific road traffic accident (exaggeration3). Not only had he broke his hat in three places but he lost an arm, even after a lengthy operation where surgeons (me) tried in vein (exaggeration4) to reattached the arm using a mixture of superglue and cellotape (DON’T ASK!!!), it turns out the Lucky Leprechaun from this day forth will be mono-armed!!! Despite this however, one positive to come from this day, I finally understand the definition of IRONY!!!!!!!
