Second in Command or rather what is crap I'm watching Jean Claude Van Damm's movie Second in Command is just screaming for help. I was able to get through about half way before it was shut off. I just couldn't subject myself to it further.
First, lets look at the Marine (LOL) who arrives at the airport to pick up Van Damm. He's wearing somewhat of a dress uniform and shows a novelty SEAL team ID card to the gate guard. Yeah right, like a Marine is a SEAL LOL and he's going to announce it to some stooge rent a cop at the gate. Then he puts his cover on like its a baseball cap.
Van Damm exits the plane in his dress uniform. Yeah I'd buy that. Sure when pigs fly. He is supposed to be entering a country in the midst of a possible civil war and he shows up in his class A uniform. Then the wannabe Marine drives him into town and during a small firefight, produces a sidearm without wearing a duty belt. WTF?
Later Van Damm is wearing a tactical floatation vest, look at it closely and you'll see the shape is off, because the film company couldn't spring for a real tactical vest. So he wears this thing like its body armor which is a great big joke to everyone on the set.
Then we get to see Marines running around outside the embassy with the US Army headcovers on no USMC cover or K-pot, allegedly there to support some rescue op for Van Damm because one of the hostages is his former squeeze.
I couldn't take much more of it and had to shut it off after that. Thankfully it wasn't a full price rental.
My vote on this film is pass it by, it really sucks and I found it insults one's intelligence. I swear I was dumber after watching the parts I did see of it.
