America ignores Jesse Jackson
Calls by Jesse Jackson and his gun-ban cohorts at the Brady Campaign for great crowds to show up at gun shops throughout the nation for a day of protest pretty much fizzled, with only a handful or so of people showing up at a few gun shops mostly in large cities.
Jackson, who was recently arrested for a gun shop protest where he caused an inconvenience to paying customers, had no qualms about asking others to protest legal gun sellers, American citizens participating in highly-regulated legal commerce on their own private property. However, despite much ballyhoo in the ‘mainstream’ media publicizing the protests, most were short and poorly attended, if anyone even showed up at all.
If Jesse Jackson wants to curb crime in the inner cities, he should leave off harassing law-abiding merchants participating in legal commerce and focus on those criminals preying on our lawful citizens. Yet, its doubtful he’ll do that. His long-term agenda, like that of the Brady Campaign, is to curb sales of all firearms to all law-abiding U.S. citizens.
The largest crowd reported was ‘about 200’ people bussed to an event with Jackson in Lake Barrington, Ill. Media reports showed that in a protest at Seattle’s Green Lake Park, two people spent 32 seconds lying on the grass in protest.
Still, never shy about abandoning the truth in order to push its agenda, the Brady Campaign issued a press release claiming that ‘huge’ crowds had turned out at the protest.
Is anyone really surprised at this?
