230 troops to be deployed to Afganistan I was watching the news last night and it said that 230 British Soldiers are to be deployed on operations against the Taliban in Afganistan.
The 230 troops will consist mostly of support trades such as Admin, Logistics etc but I also believe that infantry soldiers are also to be deployed (though, don't quote me on it).
They will assist the 8,000 strong British forces which are part of the 52,000 (I think) Allied forces.
I'm just wondering that if 52,000 seems to make such little difference, what good is 230 to make???
Which brings me onto another point....yobs and chavs, but that's for another thread.
What do you all think???

… I personally don't think 1 single extra soldier should be sent over there. This is kind of like nature performing its cleansing. The Middle East is extremely screwed up, and to be honest I don't think another 10,000 soldiers would make any difference at all, it would take another 2,000 years to make any difference!

… I agree. If it were down to me I'd let them blow each other up and perhaps go in and clean everything up after it's over. Less IEDs, Terrorists, Time, Money etc etc etc.
