lol, it does "settle preconceived notions." very well written. I really like the way talks about religion. its not biased or anything and it really explains a lot.

That's true, there's so much that I identify with in this book, being brought up around different religions, etc. and it is brilliantly yet simply written.

Basically what I mean is that around the world, but in the UK in particular, the vast majority of the Asian community are portrayed as religious extremists that don’t embrace other religions apart from their own. Firstly this book opened my eyes to the fact that religion in Asia is as it is around the rest of the world, you have your extremists, fanatics and your average person that is just trying to find themselves spiritually and religiously. You only hear about the extremists and fantastic, which in the grand scheme of things are a vast minority. And introducing an atheist, and his views on religion, make this book better yet still.

No wonder it is a Booker Prize winner!
