Anyone else thought of this????

I was sitting in my room last night wondering what I could write a short story about and I had an idea.

I've lost count of the number of times I've read a good book and ended up screaming at the book "don't go over there.....he's hiding in the bush.....he's got a gun.....he's going to......never mind!!!!! :D :D :D LOL :D

Well, what if you could actually change the storyline as you went along. I've decided that the next story I shall write will be one that offers a series of options allowing you to almost 'control the characters' by clicking on different links.

Anyone else thought of doing something like this?????

Mark ;)

As in some kind of role-playing short story almost?

Yeah, I have... We tried a book like this when we were having lessons about s e x in school. Some times you got to choose what to do, and other times you would role the dice (when it was more of a coincidence case). And it was actually quite fun, 'cause once we had to do what we would definitely do, and once what we would most definitely not do, and the results was so different!

I definitely think you should go for it Mark! It takes quite a lot, because you'll have to write multiple stories, and coordinate them, but if you take the time it can be quite a good book! emoticon

I remember reading books like this in junior school, way back in....wait for it...... the early to mid 1970s!!!

When you got to a point in the book where you had to make a choice about the storyline, it gave you a list of the page numbers where to turn to.
