hehehe, here goes...
In the English Justice System, there are 12 people in a Jury and 1 Judge, making 13, which is the same as the people at the Last Supper (12 disciples and Christ). For that reason, when hanging criminals (which was our favoured way of dishing out the "death penalty", up until the 1960s), the "hangman" would use a noose using a knot made of 13 turns.
They're a great deterrent to make people be nice, I've told Christina I'm going to show her how to make one to frighten the children into behaving themselves.
