Re: TRANSMISSION COOLERS
Harry:
Couple of things here....
Most guys running in FAST run pretty tight converters, Knowing the type of converter that is in your car now, I would say you don't need it. There just isn't enough heat generated by a converter that is as tight as what most are running.
Plus, at most of the venues, there is so much time between runs for you guys, I would be more concerned that the trans(and the engine and diff oil as well), isn't getting hot enough. Lot's of power is lost due to cold fluid, especially in the colder months.
If you were running the car on the street, that would be a different story. Then certainly a cooler would be in order. As for the ruling on it, I wouldn't think it would be an issue, as long as reasonable means to conceal it was performed, But I will leave that for the rulemakers.

Re: TRANSMISSION COOLERS
The car needs to look stock veiwed from the outside and looking under the hood. That means that you can run a tranny cooler that looks like the one that the car came with from the factory. Or else hide it. Bye

Of course, you could row 4-gears like Joel and not have to worry about it!!!!
