oil pan??

Can a replacement fabricated oil pan with stock sump dimensions be used? It looks stock and would "appear correct" from front of car but would be a fabricated piece that resembles stock in sump depth and shape. Can it be aluminum painted stock color or need to retain steel construction?
I dont see it directly in the rules but wanted to ask.

Yes. Check out the part of the rules that defines "correct appearing"

Good luck!

if the sump shape isnt exactly stock does the black stock color make it "correct appearing"?

What you need is an Ed Cook Signature Series deep oil pan. All other pan designs pale in comparison and will run you afoul of the rulemakers.

Just Kidding, it's an old joke...Hopefully the rulemakers will chime in and set it straight..

In F.A.S.T., the line between what looks stock and what does not look stock can be a little blurry. There is no blueprint or template fpr what will fly. If you think it doesn't look right, then it probably dosen't. If you think it will slip by without being noticed unless some one studys it, go for it. If you push the gray area, be prepared to get some flak and have to change some stuff. Good luck.
