1970 Camaro L78
Has any one ever tried to run that in FAST. It's a good combo except for the intake. Does the the 70 SS396 Chevelle have to run that intake or the 163?

Re: 1970 Camaro L78
i run the 70 396 and use the same intake as the LS6.
I could run the 69 intake as an early 70 model but i use the ls6 now as it is what i had!
the numbers escape me right now but you get it i think!
i know the earlier one is better but i still havent maxed out with this later low rise peice!
i think there is more potential in it than most think and would like to see how far she'll go

Re: 1970 Camaro L78
this intake has only been port matched by me at home and opened up the plenum a little.
no flow numbers or major porting, just trying to do the most with the least $

Re: 1970 Camaro L78
thanks big D
Actually, nothing special yet, the chevelle is an A body like gregs buick, so although i am happy with every chip i take off the E.T., its in my mind that he did it with a "not as likely candidate",.....so the work/fun continues!

Re: 1970 Camaro L78
Your car is awesome Ted. Even cooler knowing you are running that pancake intake!! It it built as an L89 car?

Re: 1970 Camaro L78
Yes, an L89 ..which helps lighten the load but the car is still heavy as i will not cut or lighten in any way that it cant be returned as the car is in good original shape!
maybe my next project....if the economy turns around
