Cam Question

I am new to this so please excuse what may be a strange question.

After reading all the tech threads, I keep seeing people running solid roller cams in the 240 to 250 degree range and yet getting the motor to sound stock at idle.

How do you do it? I have never owned or worked on a car with that much cam that had a stock sounding idle.

Do you run very high LSA's?

Thanks,

Kevin

Re: Cam Question

Yes, most guy`s are running high LSA`s and most guy`s are running bigger cubes too. A 240/250 cam with 500+ cubes really ain`t that big.

Re: Cam Question

Dave,

I hadn't considered the extra displacement.

Even so, I'm impressed. Everything you do: Big cam, cutting down the plenum divider in the intake manifold, etc. all work against a good idle.
