Re: usb to comp port adapter

I've got one Kieth you can have it.

But they never work mate, useless, as com ports and USB are two very different animals. You're welcome to try it, you will need software, downloadable, but be prepared to be disappointed.

What is the lead? If its USB forget it, you absolutely must have a USB slot on the machine. If it com port then you'll spend hours and hours to try and make it work, whatever anyone tells you emoticon it may or may not work emoticon

I'll help as much as I can, but I know from loads of experience that com ports and usb are pretty much incompatable emoticon

As my little experience with a CAT also tx/rx interface i can say that what Dave told you is true emoticon

It's pretty easy to radio control but not sense at all.

If you're gonna try the digital modes, such as rtty, psk and so be ready for nightmares...

Last experience i had is that i've bought an USB to Serial and viceversa converter for my new acer aspire one and guess what ?

no way.

So...enjoy the feeling when you can still turn your radio knobs, pressing your keys etc emoticon
