Re: How do you make yor call???
I personally believe clarity is The Thing and Fox-Bravo, Foxtrot-Bravo or Fox-Baker all are fine for me. But I do hate stations that use what I'd consider inappropriate "phonetic words".
I though I’d struck pay-dirt yesterday with a 2-Division contact (it’s still my, as yet unachieved, 11m Holy Grail to get a decent 2-Div contact)… But I was disappointed when it turned out to be just another Italy Station: this one calling “CQ, One-America-Canada-….” - Now that’s just plain misleading.
I’m fairly sure I heard “Singapore-Japan” from a Spanish station recently too.
Maybe I should try “Frankfurter-Beefburger”, “Frozen-Beer” . . . or even, as I’m a Welsh Station, “Flamboyant Boyo” ? ?

Re: How do you make yor call???
hi,
This is not bad idea to use wales, because there is many language in eu and in finland thats are farao bertta and that is in our national standards. usa have also own "names" like david etc, using standard system helps undertand dx call better, but in 555,there is many stations (like radio amateurs pile up) many give diffrent kind call just to showing up from QRM. This is like short call in pile ups and some stations dont like to hear shorty, only full calls. This can realy make contact easily and shorter on dx stations if he can pick up full call and put it on log or can use it later in pile up.

Re: How do you make yor call???
Phonetics. PHONETICS. Everytime.
Thats what god put'em there for.Its proffesional operation if nothing else.
It seemed to be an amateur trend a few years back to create a PERSONAL alphabet lingo, trouble is if i have to think and work out what the **** said I normally talk to the next QSO.
Sure everyone wants to be a bit different and unique but lets face it folks how would we have got on if we started adjusting the morse code to suite our own hand.
Whats the problem with using Florida or Freemantle as a qth or for the letter F, well its big if your struggling with QSB and QRM and trying to get the details through. It just leads to more repeats its unproffesional and it leads to confusion with stations where English is not there native tongue.
Sugar Delta is established as a word in its own right a bit like FoxBravo has, so its not ambiguous, but freddy baker or Formidable Bollockhead, just sounds like a blokes name ?
We are judged on air by what we say and sound like, its a fact, so why not sound clear and proffessional and make freebanding the epitaph of radio ops ie the exception rather than the rule. Our FB operational standard influences the general standard, Foxtrot Bravo have been heard throughout the globe so let us set the standard if others cannot, display your standard with high quality operation.
Climbing down from the steed now!!
