Another new edition to shack Nov 09 I recently replaced my Kenwood TS850s with the newer TS870, so far so good, nice filter notches and good outgoing audio with DSP built in.

Re: Another new edition to shack Nov 09 Yep good rig Patrick, and still a lot of fig for the money, I see yours has a round symbol for the power on, so I presume yours is one of the later 870's, mine is one of the first from 1995.
What is the first number of the serial number?.
Re: Another new edition to shack Nov 09 hello steve, It's doing the job nicely now after the service menu reset, the serial number has 8 digits and begins with 4, maybe you could post the serial number year that the rigs where made, I've no idea when this one was built.
Was using mine today with the head phones, less back ground noise, a lot easier to pick out the weaker stations, unplugged the phones no audio from the rig speaker, looks like the lid is coming off again LOL.
