Echo Charlie

Echo Charlie is illegal international freeband radio frequencies similar to the 11 meter band we all use so much. Although Echo Charlie is a section of particular frequencies, we will be dedicating all freeband frequencies, other than the popular 11 meter band, to Echo Charlie.

The Echo Charlie freeband frequencies are:

86/85m 3430-3500
calling 3475 LSB

45m 6530-6700
calling 6670 LSB This is actual Echo Charlie

21m 13900-14000
calling 13970 USB

16m 18010-18050
calling 18030 USB

14m 20900-20980
calling 20930 USB

I will anounce activity on the message board, but some Freeband members will be regularly active on Echo Charlie, using the call sign ECFB.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Re: Echo Charlie

I was active on 6.6 Ec over the wekend, I am amazed at how popular these frequencies are! there were many freebanders on there from all over Europe, with the most popular band being 86m.

At the moment the propagation is dire on the ever-so popular 11 meter band so those freebanders who still want to DX have been using the Ech0 Charlie frequencies.

Recommended for those who dont mind going the extra half mile in the pursuit of freebanding emoticon

Let me know if you want any advice, I'm no expert on the subject just learning about it fast emoticon

Lots of Irish activity on 3475 tonight.

Heard the US on 13970, but I didnt get back. The prop was really strong so I'm surprised they didnt hear me? It will happen I'm going to keep trying until it does

French on 6670

The rest of the bands pretty dead, no prop at all, including 11 mb and this message board emoticon emoticon

Even EC has been quiet recently, I suppose lack of propagation of other bands stop people even switching the radio on right now. Bring on the cycle I say, liven up the bands and get some DX going! emoticon emoticon
