Re: New PLT interference petition - please sign.
Borrowed a leisure battery 100 amps and switched off the mains, the result is no different. So...........im looking to borrow a HF receiver so that when i make a complaint to ofcom i can demonstrate the interference across the bands including 27mhz without having any equipment that would draw attention.

Signed.
I get 5 on the s-meter all day every day on almost every band.
The only time it drops is around 2am and starts again by 6 !

Re: New PLT interference petition - please sign.
mine starts around 6mhz and is notched out of the ham bands but everything else above 6mhz is wiped out by plt. Ive walked round the garden with a hf HH and pin pointed the plt just dont want to upset neighbours really so i'm goin to try and aproach them about it rather than ofcom go wading in

Re: New PLT interference petition - please sign.
Do you think that ofcom knocking on the door is likley to inflame the situation? If you are not causing tvi then really you should be safe having ofcom give them advice.....ummmmmm worried now if i should go down the road of ofcom

Re: New PLT interference petition - please sign.
dont worry! if i didnt know where the interference was coming from i would have no problem gettin ofcom in to sort it out. in fact i'm sure i have more than 1 source of plt round this village. I just think as its in the house right next to me maybe it better for me to aproach them, ofcom did advise that i didnt and to go through them. I have only lived here since xmas and have only just really got chattin propperly with the neighbours so i am thinkin maybe if i asked them they could ring BT themselfs and ask for a none interfering device as they will replace it free of charge to them. if they dont then i will have no probs going through ofcom, after all they would complain if i was interfering with their tv's.
If you dont know where its coming from go through ofcom, if you know where its coming from and get on with the people try and sort it out without ofcom

Re: New PLT interference petition - please sign.
You may find BT will only change the installation once Ofcom have confirmed the problem, but no harm in trying I suppose.
One major dowside of bypassing Ofcom is that it's a missed opportunity to get another official complaint/case number, and we desperately need the numbers to strengthen our case.
Maybe have a word with the neighbours and see if they will co-operate, accepting your reasons for involving Ofcom. If you do this, don't let on to Ofcom that you know the location of the interfering devices. Everyone wins that way.
