No contribution????
Have heard a few stations saying NO or NEGATIVE contribution, does this mean they do not send QSL cards? Not heard this before but heard a few times over the weekend.

This means its free to recieve QSL cards, I think. Most activations require a $1 or 1Euro contribution, when you send your card, in order to recieve a reply. To date I have never sent any contributions

Oh I see, sort of makes sense now, seems a bit of a silly question when you know!

bugger that. i'm sorry but that sounds so wrong, i could understand if they was from some third world country, i think thats a real cheek. they better not ask me for anything cos they wont be getting sod all my hobby costs me enough as it is, im not funding other peoples.

Years ago I took part in a contest,and used the term negative contribution,and still had some operators send my $1.

contributions helped many groups on 11mtrs, bearing in mind alot of actitvaies cost alot of money to get off the ground.
say if i was to activate 139 div (no longer)
cost of flites ,accomadition,etc just to talk on the radio 8 hours a day,then send qsl's which i've brought free to all my contacts.would av to av a very good job,& wife??
i used to be in local post office every sat morning posting last weeks qsl's & buying this weeks ir coupons,they were intrested in where i'd bin talking to??
so must av spent a futune in qsl's over the years?? but its part of the hobbie,many memories are in those multi piles of photo albums????
