 New in FB Group
73`s to all.
I am Alan 29FB002 from the S/E of Ireland.
I am active on radio for the past 20 years.
I started out in radio back when the shillings were few and far between lol.
My first rig was a miniscan 40 ch am/fm and I had a silver rod antenna.
I still have the miniscan and it still works 100% .
One day I rx a call fron a non BREAKER (a full on DX`er) from the UK and This started my long road into the world of dx radio.
The next rig was a WKS 100 WITH SSB lol.
And yes I still have it and it works too.
I was invited into a proper dx group and have had many years through high and low activity times of good contacts.
Today My rig is a little diferent (FT 1000 MP MKV 200w)
Antenna is a Moonraker 4.
But I still enjoy the contacts as much as when I had qso on the 40 ch , lol.
Looking forward to having some QSO`s with you all soon.

Glad you have made some FB contacts already and you're in the log for 26FB000
Good DX and hope for some decent prop over the winter. E layer starting to fade now, although last couple of days have been good

Had fun with the 26FB000 when active and also in the FB net on 585, tnx Dave and John and all who were by freq on net night.
Hope to work a SOTA here before Xmass and im
fearly sure thet it will be the first from Mt Leinster for FB group.
Mt Leinster is ref no EI/IE-004,
Alt =2602 ft.

Hi Al.
Will let you all know in plenty of time.
I want to get some pics of the location to show how great this Mountain is.
I cant drive to the top any more as a private company has taken over the transmitter at the top, but I will get as close as possible. It will still be on the summit of the Mountain , just 100 ft or so away from the top. It still qualifies as SOTA.
I will have to walk about 3 miles to get there so all contacts will be much appreciated.
Haven't decided on an antenna yet , might bring a mixture of light weight home brews.
1- Salvaged 1 element.
2- 11m dipole
3- antron 99.
All the above are easy to handle and light, so The only problem is the rig.
Looking for Ft 897 with battery pack but have to sell some gear here first, (too many rigs on the bench lol)
