 Hi from Tony 26FB147
Hi all, just got back into radio after 29 years away!!! one of the original AM/SSB Cbers. loads of fun hiding rigs and secret messages. came back to Legal FM with a Midland 48 Multi, but quickly realised not the same. I am new to 11M, just got a superstar 3900 modded for 27.555. using a Trucker 80 with Magmount mobile. I am learning quickly to remember Q Codes and feeling like I never been away. Hope to DX as soon as poss and hopefully contacts in abundance. 73s to all from Sunny Cheshire

Welcome Tony We had some 1 division DX this afternoon for a while at 5/9++ So its certainly picking up. Good timing I'd say on the 3900

I hope, with all these people suddenly digging out their radios, that we aren't going to see another 1980!!
But seriously, we really are seeing a revival going on, and I recall reading in one of Knight's news letters that they had seen an upsurge in CB related sales. Goota be a good thing.

Thanks for your warm welcome, I really dont know how I suddenly wanted to relive the old days just woke up saying must get me a rig!!!???? Midland was a name I remember so got the 48, lots of static on FM and no voices. so decided to go right back and try SSB again. having trouble with MIc at present no Vox going back to have it checked tommorrow.

Hi Drew, No not me only got superstar on saturday by the time I got it wired in yesterday I found Mic not working at all, but all fixed today seem to be a loose wire, had radio check on way home from work its doing fine now. whats your QTH? may be able to CQ on 555

no sorry it was another Tony in Sussex who got his gear down from the loft after a few years of gathering dust and was trying to sort out his 3900. Get you on 11 or 45 .All the best Drew
