Kenwood 570
Hi Lads, It seems my radio might be transmitting slightly off frequency. Possibly around 100hz or so.
Anyone know if it can be retuned without it going in to the shop?

It can be for certain, but you will have to search around or find the right person to tell you how. Once you know how, you need a frequency reference.
As for a reference frequency, you can use one of the big AM broadcast stations around 7.3MHz - simply tune in using USB, the TX frequency is almost always exactly on a zero or a 5 so tune using the frequency readout, ensuring the RIT control is swiched off.
Once there, adjust the rig for perfect audio and you will be pretty close depending on how good you are at accurately tuning in SSB transmissions.

My 570d runs just off on the 11 meter band but fine on the rest of the hf bands. I just alter my xit by .1 and hey presto i am bang on to everybody !
As to getting a more permanent fix, Castle electronics in Welshpool are great. Not cheap though !
