ss3900 tx frequency
my 3900 tx is on a slightly different frequency from the rx frequency, is this right as i have been told that modulation sounds "off"....

yeh or power supply not man enough. have you tried moving the kc shift so you sound on frequency to the other station and then tryin to tune them in with the clarifier?

The course clarifier on my 3900 works TX and RX - tune this one until you sound right to the other station and then tune the RX-only fine clarifier until they sound right to you.
Do you have the 3900 plug-in frequency counter?
Just let me know if you need a rig check - copied you before mate.
