KVL is good and solid though (4x519's)700w fm/am 1400w ssb, mine doesn't quite do that but it does the 1200 ok. I used to run one in my old van in the Aunty Mary days from a 2.5k petrol genny. Those were the days.
They are straight forward to setup and theres lots of good mods to use them on other bands, if the neeeed arose! j193

so they can be sort of broad banded john ,not plugged it since buying it.
just got the box sitting under the bench mite fire it up the weekend so you could give a radio report??
it will warm the atu's up & test everything???

You can add input tuning for any part of the spectrum, you used to be able to get a kit for this but co stopped trading. i prefer the variable cap route its more flexible. If you bypass the output tank you'll HAVE to use a good tuner to load the valves plate on any band but the amp will tx down to 350khz (NDB navaid band), But you will have to reduce the drive because down the lower end of the spectrum the amp is very efficient and will easily overdrive, so watch the rf meter as you descend. Mine does 1150w on 86m through the TAU tuner with just 3 1/2 little watts of drive from the exciter! very efficient. I pretty sure Linear amps UK do a kit that fits all valve amps and adds the input tuning board (pre made) with band selection, they do one for the output tank too. Have a boggle at there website.
