Meringue snowmen

Ingredients
For the snowmen

3 egg whites
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp caster sugar
For the decoration

50g royal icing sugar
Orange and brown food colourings

Method
Place the egg whites with a pinch of salt in a clean, grease-free bowl and whisk until they form stiff peaks.
Whisk in 2 tbsp of caster sugar, then fold in the rest using a metal spoon.
Place the mixture in a plastic piping bag snipping 1cm off the end.
Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
For each snowman, pipe two blobs of meringue – a smaller blob for the head – on to the tray.
Bake at 120°C/100°C Fan/ Gas ½ for 2 hours.
Leave to cool in the oven. Peel off the paper.
Make up the royal icing as directed on the packet and divide between 2 bowls adding a food colouring to each.
With small piping bags, pipe eyes, noses and buttons on the snowmen.
