Metroid: Other M
First, watch the trailer if you haven't already. It's amazing.

What are your thoughts on this new take on the Metroid series?
As far as presentation goes, I love it. I'm not totally convinced on the amine style that this game has going for it, but as far as production values go, I'm really impressed. Samus has always had an interesting back story, and now she's finally going to get to tell it.
Speaking of the story, did anyone recognize Adam from Metroid Fusion? "Any Objections Lady?"
Speaking of Metroid Fusion, I think this game might be it's sequel. I saw Samus fighting a purple space pirate taken right out of Metroid Fusion, the mention of Adam, I'm really starting to think that this could be a sequel. I'm hoping it's not another prequel. I know we see Samus as a teenager in the trailer, but I'm really hoping that that is just flashbacks. As much as I love Metroid, I really think it's time that we move ahead with the time line instead of making games that fit in the middle or precede others.
As far as gameplay is concerned, I really need to see more to have a solid opinion. The action elements look amazing! Though, I'm wondering if you are able to switch between first person mode or whether or not that is just a scripted event. How that's going to work I have no idea.
The fact that this game being developed by Team Ninja only worries me slightly. They have combat down, that's for sure, but I really hope the game still retains the exploration element that Metroid is famous for. I still want to be able to find weapons to open up new doors, find new abilities to reach unreachable areas, wall jump, grapple, you know, all that good stuff. I really hope it's not just some linear shoot um up game.
So anyway, those are my initial thoughts on the game. What do you think of this new direction for Metroid?

With Trilogy, you get Prime 1, Prime 3, and Prime 3 all in one disk, all with revamped Wii pointer controls. And you get it all in a fancy tin can with an art booklet.
