Elect

As of currently who are your...choices for election. Who and why? I know it's a little early, but I felt it should be discussed before it's actually election time.

BLAAAAAA!
That about sums up how I feel about my options. I will put together a more sophisticated response when I'm in a better mood though...

At the rate things are going, I'm seriously contemplating a write-in vote for "none of the above".

I'll second that. (Do you suppose there's any chance we could get Jon Stewart as his running mate? Sad to say, that would be the strongest ticket in a long, long time.)

Ha. I was watching "The Colbert Report" a week ago (??? two??) and Stephen had a bumper sticker that said "Colbert / Stewart '08" He had several others as well. But I don't remember them all.

My friend has one of those bumper stickers.

I saw Obama speak this past 4th of July and was VERY impressed, and saw Hillary this past weekend, and despite all the loathing many people have for her, I have been unable to find fault. Also, though I certainly have no problem with people not liking a candidate for a reason, it seems that 99% of people spewing curses at Hillary do it because 'She's stupid' or 'She eats babies' or something equally ridiculous, which does not impress me at all.

Also, I'm very excited because I'll be voting this time!

I'm not the biggest Hillary fan, to be sure, but I do find remarkable the double standard that's applied to her (and to female politicians generally): what's "determined" for a man becomes "power-hungry" for a woman; "tough" for a man becomes "unfeeling" for a woman; and so forth. And if I read one more remark criticizing her appearance, I believe I shall scream.

That said: Obama '08.
