He was pulled over for DWI and made the statement to the arresting officer that "[expletive] Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," then asked him "Are you a Jew?"

Charming, no? emoticon

While I think it was an awful statement for him to make, I hope it blows over. We've all said things that we shouldn't- he was just unlucky enough to have to put his foot in his mouth in view of the entire country.

I must confess, Kristin, I'm not as sympathetic to him as you are (or as I probably should be). It's not as if this were an isolated incident - bear in mind that this is the man who belongs to a radical splinter group of the Catholic Church that opposes outreach to other faiths, and whose father once referred to the Holocaust as "mostly fiction". As I see it, this drunken incident just proved what Gibson has been obstinately denying all along - he's an anti-Semite.

In any case, I hope he gets help for his alcohol problem. For his sake, and for his family's.

I've never liked the guy... I think he's obnoxious, racist, and a bad celebrity example of a Christian... He makes all of us look rly, rly bad.

He is the lamb, she is the slaughter.
She's moving way too fast and all he wanted was to hold her.
Nothing that he tells her's really having an effect.
He whispers that he loves her,
but she's probably only looking for...

And he's probably sexist and homophobic as well.

He doesn't make me look bad religiously but as a guy and being of the same race as him im ashamed of him, what are some of your thoughts on the passion?

I didn't know it wasn't an isolated incident, that does make quite a bit of difference. I could just feature him getting drunk, and then making some stupid remark (which could be rub-off from the current middle-east situation) and later regretting it. But I guess not...

It absolutely boggles my mind when people say that the Holocaust is a myth. Where, I have to wonder, do they think that those millions of people disappeared to?
