Re: Hip...
WOW...3 hours?!?! I am sooooooo sorry! Mine only last about one hour and it was AWFUL. At first they thought my head might make it out of the tube but it didn't quite make it. If I arched my back and tipped my head waaaay back I could see the ceiling...so I did that in between sequences...it made me feel better.
Now I just have to wait an entire week to meet with the doctor for results and then we can find out what's wrong with me!

Re: Hip...
Yeah...it's best to try to see the ceiling. Some are shorter than others, which is nice. Unfortunately, the three-hour one was in a super long one. I prayed my way through that whole thing. yuck. I get sooooo claustrophobic, so the ONLY way I get through them is by praying.

Re: Hip...
My mom won't let me run until we know what's wrong and it starts being fixed. And cross country mile club starts this week! It's killing me! Not to mention that I'm actually experiencing symptoms of withdrawal. I'm cranky, have mood swings, cry all the time, am irritable, apparently I repeat myself, I've been really stressed, and finally, I've been getting these really bad headaches and I know it's because I'm not running. I just want to run again!

Re: Hip...
Well...
They think I have a cartilage tear so I have to go see a specialist next week.
Best case scenario- they're wrong...except then we still don't know what's wrong with me.
Worst case scenario- I DO have a tear and have to have surgery to fix it.
I can't run until then. And it's killing me.

Re: Hip...
Quick update before I dash off to school in the rain. Bleck.
I spent a very very long time in the doctor's office in Des Moines yesterday and I don't really know much more than I did before. He THINKS I MIGHT have a labral tear but he doesn't KNOW...so I get to have another, longer MRI done on Monday...this time with radioactive dye stuff injected into my hip. If it is a labral tear then we either do the pain manajement track (basically I take like 6 or 7 antiinflammatories a day to make the pain not as bad) or do the fix it track (sounds sort of good to me...sort of). The only problem with the fix it track is that that would mean surgery. He said I can still run with it and if this is the problem then I don't have to have surgery every, especially not before cross country, but I'll have a choice to make. It won't be that bad though, because I can still have my senior season and that's all that matters.
And of course that was all hypothetical since there are a lot of "maybes" involved here. If it's not that then they don't really know and I'll just do physical therapy for a looooooooong time.
Either way though, I have to have another MRI and this one will take longer. I don't want it! NOOOOOO!
