So, seriously? Nobody has any thoughts whatsoever? Weird.

Re: James

Well, I liked the one you mentioned about being slow to speak. I need to think more before I snap back at people (mostly my family).

Here are some verses that stood out to me.

Chapter 1:5-8
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does."

also, 1:22-25
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does."

^Hypocrites. I think that is one of the most important subjects for Christians today because it's such a common problem and probably a huge part of what keeps people from giving God a chance.

How dull it is to pause, to make an end,
To rust unburnish'd, not to shine in use!
As tho' to breath were life.

I'm doing a study on James right now, actually, in my youth group. This Wednesday is our last week. emoticon

we could fall between these lines if you would work with me.
i could pull you from this cellar;
we could break these chains together.
and you'd become just what you always meant to be.

We did the whole book except for chapter 5 because we got cut short. We just took a chapter each week, read it, and then went into "discussion."
