Jodi Picoult
We might as well have a topic for her, since we love her!
So, I ordered one of her books off Amazon today (Plain Truth) and I just can't wait for it to get here! My teacher has been telling me all about the one SHE'S in the middle of and one of these days, if I ever get paid, I intend to buy these and sit around and read them all at once!
What's your favorite of hers (so far)?
--- we could fall between these lines if you would work with me.
i could pull you from this cellar;
we could break these chains together.
and you'd become just what you always meant to be.

Re: Jodi Picoult
I can't pick one. I've read The Pact, Salem Falls, and Nineteen Minutes. They're all so different, and yet kind of alike at the same time. I liked them all for different reasons. I also have Tenth Circle, which I haven't read, and Second Glance, which I decided not to read during school because I can't give it the attention it deserves. I don't even check out her books from the library first anymore, I just buy them now.

Re: Jodi Picoult
I've only been able to read The Pact and My Sister's Keeper, but Plain Truth is on its way to me as I type. My library doesn't have her books, and this makes me very sad.. so I basically have to buy them.

Well it's usually worth it, in my opinion.
What was My Sister's Keeper about?

Re: Jodi Picoult
It's about this girl who was conceived because her sister has an acute form of leukemia.. they wanted her to be a genetic match so that she could donate blood (etc) to her sister and keep her alive.
I'm dying to tell you more but I don't want to give too much away. It's really sad. And the ending will definitely catch you off-guard.

I. Love. Her.
So far I've read My Sister's Keeper, The Pact, Tenth Circle and Nineteen Minutes. And I have Plain Truth sitting on my desk. I'm waiting until I have the time to just sit down and read it. Otherwise I might have to put it down and that would just be a shame.

Re: Jodi Picoult
I think I'm gonna get one of her books tomorrow. The Pact maybe.
Are her books super sad? The one you explained sounded pretty sad.
But they sound good! Obviously a lot of people here love her.
She kinda sounds like Angela Hunt. They both seem to write about controversial issues. But I know Angela Hunt is a Christian. I don't know if I'll like Jodi Picoult or not. I'm not all about happy endings but I don't want to be reading books that end up compromising morals just to make an interesting story. You know?

We should rally to get her to Arkansas. Little Rock, yes?

Well, I'll just go ahead and warn you now: you might not like some the language and graphic scenes in her books.
Yeah, some of them are "sad," but mostly I just find them.. easy to fall into.
I'll check out Angela Hunt.
