Devil's Knot
Have any of you read either Devil's Knot or Boys On The Tracks by Mara Leveritt? I'm just wondering because I'm about to start Devil's Knot. That, and both of the story's take place in Arkansas. And Boys On The Tracks happened in my area.
Devil's Knot is about the West Memphis Three (3 teenage boys that were put on tiral for murdering 3 eight year-old boys). One of the boys is on death row and the other two were sentenced to life in prison. One of the investigators decided that these boys were guilty before he even had any evidence against any of them and they were arrested, detained, and question without knowing their constitutional rights for an attorney or having their parents present. The author (if I remember correctly) is convinced that these boys are innocent and that one of the step fathers of the little boys is guilty.
And Boys On The Tracks is about two boys that supposedly smoked too much marijuana and passed out on the train tracks and got run over by a train. However, both of the boys bodies were arranged neatly on the tracks. The parents were suspicious of foul play and a murder investigation was started.
