Five minutes

"Five minutes", Graeme says, trying to control
My activities, his desires what I should do
Wants me to go outside and watch him ride
"No options, Dad! Do what I want you to!"

There was a time his brother used to say
similar demands to occupy my time
But now he's older, by two and a half years
His friends monopolize his mind

A few more years, I now know what to expect
They're growing up a nd into the future
It's been a rough few years, not quite healed yet
But we'll make it together I'm sure

Kitt
(another conceived this evening)

Re: Five minutes

Kitt, my little boy is now 27! I know just what you mean and it's so hard to watch them grow up. I want my little huggy boy back sometimes!

And you've reminded me of when I was a kid and begging my Dad to come out to see my camp in the woods, it's "only 5 minutes away!"

thanks!
V.

Re: Five minutes

Kitt,

My baby (my youngest) is away this whole week and a few days and oh how I miss my hugs and just having her here with me. She just turned 13 in April and she is taller than me at 5'3" and is so beautiful. This last year she has grown so much it is amazing!

Our first is getting his permit to drive...wahhh. At almost 16. I can not beleive he will be gone in a few years serving in the Navy.

That was wonderful. Thank you for sharing. Made me really sit and think about all the years that have gone by. And truly...we really need to live one day at a time and cherish each moment that God gives us. Each day is so wonderfully made and each one of us so wonderfully made in His image! Praise god for your gifts. Love, JOleen
