But Thou, Oh Lord, art a shield for me; my glory and the lifter up of my head.

Re: Psalm 3:3
You know, that phrase- 'thou art the lifter of my head' is one that i depended on throughout my teenage years (waaaaay long before i knew anything about fusion...!) i dealt with a lot of shame and yes, now- it speaks to me in a much broader sense!!!!
it implies that he is the ultimate healer of my body as well as my soul and psyche*
but isn't that just like the Bible- having more and more and more to say every time we read it? and God planting special verses in our hearts~ for future days*
thanks for sharing it V.
rainbows,
zoe

Re: Psalm 3:3
Psalm 121: I look to the mountains from whence comes my strength. My strength cometh from the Lord.
Having always lived in valleys surrounded by mountains, these lines memorized in my childhood always bring me peace and comfort when I am down and can gaze on the mountains surrounding me... And, of course, when I moved to the city, I chose one in a river valley once more!
A new friend, having always lived in desserts, uses the 63rd psalm in the same way, "For you my soul thirsts, like a land parched, lifeless, and without water."
How wonderful it is the way the literature of the bible speaks to each of us in a individual way that brings the spirit.
Paz y Bien to all,
Susie

Re: Psalm 3:3
Ah, I love that one, Susie, especially since we just got back in the door from a little drive and seeing the incredible snow capped mts we have here, plus our pine covered mt. just north of our place...I also derive so much strength from those mountains and I know the Indians always attach much spiritual strength to them, as well....
love it, thanks

Re: Psalm 3:3
May I be just a little bit jealous?
It sounds so beautiful.
Ah, you are just right, in His infinite wisdom, God has provided for us all. Given instruction to each of us, and assigned us gifts to use.
Awesome is He.
Thanks Susie and Virginia.
