Best song ever written
Which song(s) do you consider to be the best ever written?
I think I'd choose Back in the USSR by the Beatles. After 6 years of frequently listening to it it still gives me the same wonderful feeling as it did the first time I heard it, it just seems like it's impossible to over-play it
(I'm sorry if there's already a topic for this)
EDIT: What I mean is which song(s) you personally think is the best ever, everyone obviously won't have the same opinion.

Re: Best song ever written
So is this in terms of BEST SONG EVER, or best lyrics or what?
I have so many I'm fond of I wouldn't be able to choose!

Re: Best song ever written
Well, I was thinking best song, both lyrics and music, but if you want to then of course you can choose a song with the best lyrics or a song with the best music. Or both. Do as you wish!

Re: Best song ever written
These are all songs that i have studied religiously. I must heard these songs more than 200 times each, most i listen to at least once a day and have indepthly listened to every component of these songs.
I oculd give one so here are a few.
Jesus and Mary Chain- Darklands
The Doors- The End
Paint it black- The Rolling Stones.
The Cure- Friday Im in Love
Lou Reed- Perfect Day

Re: Best song ever written
you know this is incredibly difficult.
the best song musically, may not be quite lyrically skilled.
but then how are we determining the best music? what was p;oular? actual musical skill?
it really really difficult..
i think some of the best lyrics i've ever read are from the 'a new morning changing weather' album by the international noise conspiracy
'a body treatise' is incredible ... but then the lyrics are simple yet effective...
dennis lyxzen is an excellent writer...
oh man, i think i have written too much

Re: Best song ever written
I only want to know your personal choice, since it obviously is impossible to call a song the best ever and then expect everyone else to agree. You can judge by whatever you want! Just choose your all time favourite song, basically. If you can't choose only one, then just do as Jesusandmarychain did.
(I am aware of the fact that it's not easy)
