new computer question

I'm thinking against upgrading and just getting a pre-made maybe even customizable computer. what would any of you recommend as far as a high quality yet affordable desktop computer? all i need is the computer. i already have a monitor, keyboard, etc...
price range would likely be no higher than $850.00 any suggestions?

I don't want you to think I'm ignoring you, toxiczen, but I really don't know. I bought my computer a few years ago from TigerDirect for about $450, if I remember correctly (monitor not included). It serves its purpose when I'm online with multiple Firefox tabs, one or two IE windows, Opera, Crimson Editor, the Gimp, and my FTP running all at the same time, but too many animated smilies on one page will freeze my system without all the extra browsers and programs running, for some reason. It's been a while since I last defragged, though, so maybe that's my problem. emoticon

Do you game? I've read that it makes a difference in what kind of system you need. emoticon

Face that kid, lower your head, and give him your best Jack Nicholson "Here's Johnny!" smile. emoticon That should get him to leave you alone. emoticon

It sucks that you have to wait until Thursday to get your computer back, and I think I would go insane having to wait. emoticon But getting more for your money is good, emoticon and cleaning does need to be done every once in a while. emoticon
