Opera Mini test

Hi Lesigner Girl, I am on a Sprint cell phone with the Opera mini browser installed.I wanted to see if I could browse Runboard with it and chose your board for my test emoticon I am still figuring it out but it works (no "return key" though so this probably looks all run together...

Cool, James! Thank you for checking it out, and for using this board to do it. emoticon

What does the board look like in comparison to viewing it from a desktop? Is there horizontal scrolling? Do the header and column images in the design show up? I wonder if you could take a clear picture of it using a digital camera, because I doubt there's a way to take a screen grab from the phone directly.

Also, what is the screen resolution on that thing?

I've tried to access Runboard from my Net10 phone, but got a restricted access error message both times I tried.

Hi LG,

James has headed back to Houston so I don't know if he will answer this... but look what I found

--->Working Opera Mini demo

It looks decent on their little simulator (and yes, you can really browse the Internet using just the demo) but it looked better on James Treo than it does in the demo.

Cool beans, Rick. Thanks! emoticon

I hope the real thing doesn't bunch all my links up top to the left or make my banner hang below the header background like that simulator, lol. The rest looks pretty good though, aside from having to zoom in.

I just tried adding this code:
<style type="text/css" media="handheld">
#header { display: none; }
</style>

It didn't get rid of the header through the simulator, but I wonder if that's just because it's a simulator and not the real thing.

I took it back out, in case you're wondering.

The Opera browser also has the option to view in "small screen". It gets rid of a lot of background images and things look a bit messy, but it can help with usability if there are any PDAs out there that actually do that.

Hi Lesigner Girl,

I think it depends on the PDA because my Treo doesn't have any troubles (other than being so tiny I can not read it without the zoom)...
