I disagree with that statement. Thermodynamics states that energy will create order, but young earth creationists never listen to that. 
Actually, one of the popular theories on abiogenesis is that the amino acids necessary to create life could have come here on an asteroid, and the energy from the impact when it crashed could have lit that initial spark. I only skimmed over that article, but that seems to be what it deals with.

The series on the History Channel "Universe" covers all this stuff.
I have to admit that I don't understand enough about science to be able to pretend to know what all that stuff means.
All i do know is that physics explains the earth to me in a way that religion never could. So I go with the science even though I don't totally understand it.

My cable subscription doesn't include the History Channel, but our local PBS station often has Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson on a show called "Nova."
Related to the topic of this thread, you might enjoy this "sermon" of his. Near the end, he says, "Not only are we in the universe, but the universe is in us."

I'm well familiar with deGrasse Tyson. I was quite surprised to see on the Wikki site that whoever wrote it describes him as a Republican in the first sentence.
Is that an attempt to make the GOP sound like the Big Tent party? Would he seriously have voted for Bush for a second term? I'd forgive him if he did vote for him in 2000. Most people didn't know Bush was so blind to science back then.
