The Atheists' riddle

I'm sure you guys have seen that ad about "so simple a child can understand it, but an atheist can't explain it". i found this site:

A rebuttal.

The guy that wrote the question doesn't respond to direct emails all he does, apparently, and I'm not getting into that one with him, is send you an offer to buy this rubbish from him in a series of emails.

Ah, I just love "proof" that is founded on untestable assumptions. emoticon

Exactly.
WOuldn't it be interesting if we accepted medical cures without thorough testing. Or allowed drug companies to sell new meds based on their ideas of what they've proved works simply because one person tried the drug and it worked.
I don't understand why people demand extensive testing of everything except religious theory. That is until you offer an opposing one.

Or because one person tried it and just happened to get better, but it had nothing to do with the drug. That's exactly how people see "evidence" of their religion. They pray for something to happen and it does, so it must have been the prayer. This, this, and this all had to happen to get where they are, so some guiding force must have caused it all to happen. Etc, etc, etc.

Yes and when you give them evidence to the contrary, they brush it aside with "god's Will:.

Or, "Sometimes it just takes a while."

Or an alternate way of saying "god's will" is, "He answered it. Just not the way you wanted him to."

True. I've heard that one too. There's always an answer when you question the subject of whether or not prayers are answers.

It's interesting how the odds of God doing what you want are exactly the same as the odds of that same thing happening without a God.

Sometimes people get their panties into such a knot!

You know that I am a believer. Belief is faith based, faith that something is or is not.

Evidenced and proofs can be manipulated. One can use the bible to prove and disprove many things. Heck just look at the legal system and the way things are manipulated. Or the press. (Dare I say schools? I start with my classes on Monday! My first class is huge and 50% are special needs students. Wish me luck.
