Problem with Layout
I am having a problem with my layout. It looks fine with my desktop computer with xp. But on my laptop widescreen, the link area has a huge space between it and the forum. When you post a new topic, the message area where you type is really small and looks terrible. I will give the css. I'm not sure how to fix it, its an older template and I can't find it anymore.

The CSS I use for my boards is very different. And I must be honest, I copy and paste mostly and then alter and tweak as needed. That CSS is very different to what I use for my sidebar spacing.
I think I'd better let Lesa give you a quick fix to sort that out.

Thanks for the screen grab, MO. It helps a lot. 
I seem to recall the same problem occuring with this board in IE8 while it was still in its beta stage, and was really hoping they would work that problem out before releasing it to the general public (damned Microsoft). If you're seeing the same thing there, I'm afraid I don't have a quick fix for it other than to advise using the code MO uses and tweaking it to re-create the look you currently have.
I'll be happy to help you with this if you need it, and MO could probably help with this one as well. Make sure to save the HTML and CSS you currently have, and also try everything on a test board before transferring it to your live board.

If you like you can use the CSS and HTML on this board
one of my testboards.
I'll make you an admin on it.
Change all the colors to the ones you want to use and then when you're done, copy the whole lot to your operating board.
I've done with that design, leave a message on that board for me when you've done in case I want to use it and then I mess up your design.
But you're very welcome to use that CSS, if you look at Anything Goes in my signature, you can see that's the test board I used for that design.

Just use the link in my previous post, you should be able to access the board's CSS from your control panel.
You can play around with the CSS and HTML there.

At first glance, I see that Anything Goes starts out with a "container" div while the one at the test board is elsewhere. Everything needs to be nested in the same order as Anything Goes, in order for it to work.
Also, I see that the test board has an "offset" div but Anything Goes doesn't. This tells me that instead of using the code from the test board and tweaking it, you've transferred your code onto the test board.
Would you like one of us to put the Anything Goes code back into the test board so you can work with that (working) code instead of the code that doesn't work in IE8?
