If they were all adults, I'd say leave them in there and let them come out in May when the world doesn't end. But there are children in there, and seven months in a cave would be an eternity to them. On the bright side, maybe the parents of these four children will be found to be unfit and won't be able to screw up the rest of their childhoods. That is, if they make it out of the cave without getting blown up.
