Re: Sarah Palin
I hope she never ends up running the show.
I know that all religious people are NOT like this, but she is the kind that will try to make her beliefs the law of the land. This is the USA, not Iran.

Re: Sarah Palin
You can send your kids to Sunday School and teach them anything you want but public school is for teaching facts and critical thinking. Kids need to learn to think for themselves and make decisions based on all the available information. If all the facts are too much for their developing little brains then they can opt for the easy explanation and grow up to be just like Sarah, but at least it would be a decision they made for themselves.
The Supreme Court needs to remain balanced and she would certainly nominate judges that would love to overturn Row Vs. Wade.
I question her judgment and her behavior with a high risk pregnancy leading up to the birth of her son Trig. After her water broke, she went ahead with her speech, then boarded a plane without alerting the crew of her condition, flew 7 or 8 hours to Anchorage, and then drove another 45 minutes to the hospital near her home. She should have been seeking medical attention while she was still in Texas. Did her husband really say that they were not going to have a fish picker born in Texas? Was she hoping that the kid would die along the way?
She had the nerve to ask the librarian of her town if she would be OK with removing books from the library. After a resounding "NO", the librarian was later asked for her resignation. After a large public outcry, Palin backed down and let her keep her job.
As for abstinence only education, it obviously doesn't work. Just ask Bristol Palin.

I don't mind at all, Mo. This board is here for sharing information, and there is a lot of information to share in that thread.

Re: Sarah Palin
Thanks Lesa, I don't like to promote my boards without permission. The election is going to hot up now so I hope that board will get busy. I'll be back there on Wednesday afternoon when I return home. Having a very emotional time of it at the moment so I'm not at my intellectual best.

Re: Sarah Palin
You're welcome, Mo.
Your emotional state is understandable, and I would be emotional as well.

Re: Sarah Palin
Seems like everybody is having a hectic Monday. Thought I'd tell you that it all seemed to be ok at the airport yesterday when suddenly te reality hit me and I gave in to the tears. Luckily the boy was very sensible and talked me back. got me laughing again, so all is well. They've arrived safely in Edinburgh, which is really great, no mishaps along the way.
I'm spending tonight and all day tomorrow and tomorrow night at Petal's house and will be returning to my own life on Wednesday. I feel like I've been away from home for ages.
To come back to Sarah Palin there has been a lot of talk over the weekend about her. She scares me, says that people should 'pray the gay away', I'd like her to tell that to **** Cheney's daughter, and abstinence, what about her own daughter.
I really fear what would happen if McCain was elected with her as VP and she should have to take over. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Re: Sarah Palin
Mo, I think your friend Morné was right, that fundamentalism does appear to be on the rise. What is with this widespread ignorance? Is the "land of the free and home of the brave" on its way to its own Inquisition? People really need to start waking up.
