Hello
Hi LG, I saw you asking who MO was in the directory, so I thought I'd come over and say 'hi' to remind you.
Hi.
Come over to my boards sometime, when you're not busy doing more important stuff.
Bye, MO.

Re: Hello
Hi Mo!
If she had used your full screen name, I would have known who she was talking about. It was probably mentioned at some point in the thread, but I seem to have missed it, lol. But now when someone says Mo, I'll know.
Thank you for stopping by, and I'll try to pop my head in at your boards sometime in the near future. You are, of course, welcome here any time.

Re: Hello
I just love this board. I remember on my very first day I came here and thought OMG I'll never have a board up to that standard. And I still think this is one of the classiest boards of the lot. You really do know what you're doing.
Come and look at my latest creations, I now have 3 three speciality boards, one for the Olympics, one for the Emmys, and then the one I did today for the Election. They'll all be closed after the events and then reused as required in the future. I value your opinion, so I'd like to see what you think.

Re: Hello
Thank you, Mo!
I checked out your boards, and think they're all nice. They're simple, but simple can be very good and is much better than noisy, in my opinion, and you did a good job at pulling the colors together to make a coherent theme.
I love the colors you chose for the election board. It's red white and blue, but muted so it doesn't blind people. The Emmys board has a nice banner, and the colors chosen for the rest of the board match it nicely as well. The Olympic board is very cute with the little characters representing different countries, and they and the rest of the colors match the various flags.
I might change a couple of things on the Olympic board, though. Parts of "The football elimination matches get underway tomorrow" are a little obscured by the outlines around the characters in the background, so maybe an opaque white background behind the text will help with that.
Where it says this:
<width="100%height="10px" bgcolor=""><font color="#000000"><font size="6">
<b><i></i>The football elimination matches get underway tomorrow</b></marquee>
You can replace it with this:
<span style="opacity:.8; filter: alpha(opacity=80);
background: #fff; font: bold 31px verdana;">
The football elimination matches get underway tomorrow
</span>
I see that your code is a little outdated and contains a few errors. If you'd like, I can give you a few pointers. I would normally recommend splitting up the styling from the HTML instead of what I posted above, but we can work into that eventually if you're interested.

Re: Hello
I have another question for you, I know you will be able to explain this.
I like to have a little mini-logo on the tab for each site I own like you have on this one, I use this in html:
"<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm272/Vebidia/logos/title%20logos/tiny.gif" />"
On most of my sites there is no problem but on the new election site it's showing a little red 'x' on the screen under the header picture. I can't see it but other people can. What is the reason for this, I now I can simply remove the code but I don't want to do that, any suggestions? Please.

Re: Hello
When I read the thread in Q&A, I had no idea it was favicon code. Did you really have the outer quotes in there (marked in red)?
"<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm272/Vebidia/logos/title%20logos/tiny.gif" />"
Sorry I'm so late in getting back to you. I got offline about 10pm Monday night and didn't get here at all last night because I didn't get online until 8pm.
You're welcome for the help, and I'm glad Sertab was able to help you out with the red X.
