‘Idol’ star coming to Columbus

Two nationally known musical artists will be performing in the Friendly City Memorial Day weekend.
“American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino and R&B artist Tank will headline a show May 24 at the Columbus Fairgrounds. The show will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will feature the two artists and several local modeling students, said event organizer Vanessa Carter.
Advance tickets to the concert are $25, and are available at Bryan’s Records and Pets in Columbus, Gibson’s Barber and Beauty College in West Point, A&A Fashions in Brooksville and Album Alley and McKinney’s Hair Fashions in Tupelo. Tickets also will be available at the event for $30.
