emoticon chameleons are from africa. if you ever saw one it was an escaped pet. american 'chameleons' are anoles, you can spot them everywhere from the carolinas down to florida, they cant change colors as good as true chameleons, and cant shoot their tongues out at all

I wanted to have a Chameleon, tho they exist in nature here, i think they're endangered, so its ilegal to possess / trade em.

So as a 2nd pick i thought about geting an iguana, i thought it would be inexpensive, but when i looked into it Lights+Heating pad = 60€ +/-
Iguana = 25€, Terrarium depends on the size, but since iguanas grow like mother****ers! u should start with atleast 1 sq meter base and 1,5sq meter height i think, maybe more.

Also i thought that if i was gona get an iguana i should get two and mate em! but as i learned after their very territorial and the male would probably hurt the female before mating season, bottom they could only be together for mating, which means i would need two terrariums or a double size one with a separation in the middle. :X

So i had to post pone my idea. xD

nice chameleon, man. my roommate has one also. the mother died while pregnant and he had to cut it open to get the eggs. only one survived and its still kickin 2 years later. although its very small for its age.

crazy story though...my buddy (same guy), used to raise a lot of chameleons that he would sell to his cousins pet store. well he finally stopped breeding them because it was a lot of work and we were moving. when he moved he had 2 chameleons. kept one (the one he still has) and the other one was sick in some way,so he actually just let it loose in a tree at a cemetery about 5 blocks away because there wasnt anything he could really do about it and didnt wanna get too attached. well we had to go somewhere so we were gone for a couple hours. finally get back home and guess whats in a branch hangin over our driveway. that same chameleon! we have no idea how it made it back, but i found it rather amazing that a chameleon could find his way home after being set free 5 blocks away. true story, i **** you not.

dont get an iguana..theyre mean little things, when they get big they have a nasty bite and the tailwhip can break your skin. get a beardie or some sort of gecko :)
