Not rubberbands, just backcomb and the first few weeks i didn't wash it a lot.
Maybe use a knitting needle for knitting in the loose hairs? And otherwise, if you go natural, just don't comb your hair :)

My hair is very fine, it explains the unravelling.
I really honestly do not care about this right now. I'll have the sectionning from the backcombing, and the rest will be natural.
Kinda halfway between the two :)
