will acv rot my dreads?

me and my girlfriend just did an acv rinse, her hair looks and feels great, better than it ever has, mine hasnt made much difference but no harm done... only thing is, she washed it with soap afterwards and I didnt (I rinsed of course), I can smell a faint wiff of acv, should I wash it out straight away or am I ok to wait a week for another wash? if theres still some in there is it in danger of rotting or anything?

thanks :)

acv is usually fine on dreads. when I do it, i like to rinse pretty thoroughly but i really don't think it will hurt your hair at all. how old are your dreads?

btw that stuff smells so strong you're always gonna smell it afterwards

The Main key with an ACV rinse is to wash your hair first and THEN do an ACV rinse.

Your hair is in no risk of rotting unless you leave it super wet for a long time, meaning to make sure once you wash/ACV rinse let it dry as fast as it can.

I use an ACV rinse after every time I wash and I get great results.

i think using it every time is overkill...also you DONT have to rinse first..

True, I forget to consider that people do wash once or twice a week maybe more than that, while I wash once every 3 weeks plus. if you wash often while using ACV then it is overkill. I have really thick locks, so washing my hair often result in greater chance of mildew and all that jazz. emoticon
