Its build up, oils and lint and product.
ACV soak <20 min heavy non diluted if you can hack it. My buddy staying here for a visit has 6 year old naturals. Same deal.
Wash it out really good, then do the Baking soda wash as well that manny posted.

munki, straight up - if you have black hair, stuff like that shows a lot easier. it's no big deal, i've gotten it at times. acv, then do that rinse and yeah, dread by dread.

just buildup, no biggie.

looks like lint. unless it smells bad, it's just dust and lint (I think). I find it in my brush all of the time. ( for my daughter's hair and back when I used one)

i've started getting this **** again. I noticed it after a shower. It looked sort of like chewing gum when it's wet and is like a paste or something. I tried to collect some, but no luck, it smells really weird though. I'm quite sure it's not lint....I've even done that wash thing and it's not gone yet.
