"Presentable"

Okay, so I have to find a way to make my 2 month old bright purple dreads look presentable...any suggestions? Cutting and going back to the natural color are way out of the question. I'm basically looking for a way to style my dreads for the time that they have to look "presentable". Thanks emoticon

Heck yes! Looks great, suprisingly! I have a few deads completely purple and then the rest are just the tips. I'll post pics when I can.

Well, you could buy a wig. Your hair is short enough.

The only problem with that is, I have to make them look presentable for forensics tournaments ( competitive acting, not the dead body stuff) and the wig would be considered costuming ... bummer

ummm... i think think of anything short of covering/redying etc, which seems to be out of the question... this is precisely why i wait on dying hair until i know i have a good 6 months without "professional" things, in general

my dreads have been pink/purple more often than not and never had an issue with jobs etc. are you sure they'll be an issue? if so...which is more important to you, temporary dye or the competition?

That's a difficult question. On one had I love my colored dreads, but on the other hand the competition counts for a grade in the class. I'm thinking I may be able to wrap them, but the one way I know to use a dread wrap is where my hair pops out the top of it all crazy.

Yes, forensics is a class and to have a good grade in the class or even pass you have to compete in the tournaments. Tournaments are a very profession like thing, you have to wear suits and all of that. (and I didn't think once about coloring my hair purple... oops) In forensics you can compete in Humorous interp., dramitic interp., solo acting, Dou interp., duet acting, or poetry interp (which is what I am competing in). All catagories have to be a ten minute memorized speech from a play, book, or song, but in poerty, and dou you are allowed to have a little back book with your lines in it.

I don't have any pictures yet, but will soon :)
